In this article I look at a kit called the 30PCS 74LSxx Series NAND Gates Logic IC Kit and discover if its good value and should you buy it

Prices
Originally bough these on Aliexpress but couldn’t find them there but here are 3 sources and the prices when I visited the website

Summary
This one turned out to better value than the previous TTL kit that I wrote an article about.
If I was able to find a usage for ALL of the chips then that would be a saving of around £7 than buying the ICs individually, the key word here is ‘if’ I could use them all.
As you can see its a decent selection of ICs but there are 3 hex inverters and 2 decoders – the inverters have slightly different characteristics
SN74LS04 Hex inverters
SN74LS05 Hex inverters with open collector outputs
SN74LS06 Hex inverter buffers / drivers with high-voltage outputs
They should be interchangeable but again you are getting 3 of them.
Again, for a site like this and maybe other educational resources the kit maybe useful for demonstrating logic ICs but once again this kit is not recommended
